Makes me want to trade

Hands down, the best thing is how much you can know in 5 mins. Notable cool aspects: (1) aesthetics, the colors and layout, 27s/retina (2) trackpad gesture navigation (3) quick keys, love these, instant UI adjust. It will spark your imagination about what you want in investing app. suggestions for devs - improve resize up and down, this app wants to be used all the time so it needs to be flexible. Add LSE heat map, real time, portfolios, more indicative stats for trading ideas. License to my broker when you have a chance, thanks!

Very responsive developer and good, well-priced product

Intrigued by seeing StockTouch featured here, I gave it a try. I did not experience the crashes mentioned by others… they seem to be limited to older graphics environments. There are wrinkles to be ironed out, for sure - but these are chiefly associated with the unorthodox use of full-scren mode. The developers, though, have been extremely hekpful and responsive, suggesting workarounds, re-assuring users of imminent new versions (which did appear on time). Its a great little app, very attractively priced. If the enthusiasm and responsiveness of the developers are anything to go by StockTouch can only go on maturing and getting better. A novel and useful way to present data from hard-working and customer-centred developers thats very well worth a good look.

Great App and quick update

When first bought it crashed when ever I tried to open it, one week later the update was released and it works great, Really a Great App for the Price, Will be using it all the time. Easy 5 Stars

Unique and useful

This app runs fantastically, and presents financial information in a clean, useful and unique way. Love seeing the market in different ways in just once glance.

THE second screen Mac app

Im not a professional trader, but I like to stay educated on market trends to keep my eTrade account humming along. Im a big fan of the iPad version of this app and always intended to use it as a sort-of second screen ambient monitor to understand whats going on throughout the day. The problem is, my iPad is never where it is supposed to be (I work from home). So, I was happy when I launched the AppStore to update some apps and noticed that StockTouch app was featured by Apple. I have a MacBookPro, but also have a 27 inch Cinema Display. My MacBookPro display is usually empty, but now I keep StockTouch open on that screen and it is awesome. I can (and do!) glance over occasionally and get a complete overview of the market (why didnt I get into Health Care stocks earleir???). Consider me a very satisfied customer. In the spirit of continuous improvement, I would make only one suggestion to the developers: Some of settings on the right-hand side of the window are difficult to see on my notebook display. As an iPad user, I have the interface memorized, but you might want to make it a tiny bit brighter for new users. Please keep up the great work!

NO EUROPEAN STOKS !!!!

YOU CAN NOT FIND EUROPEAN COMPANY , THATS A SHAME !

Good start - needs to be more Mac-centric

Its an ok start but overall too much Mac-centric The window always start full sized, doesnt remember the last size it was closed at. And overall the performance is very sluggish. It looks like it was meant to be an exact port of the iOS version but this can be so much more if it was optimized for the larger screen, mouse, keyboard, and everything else that comes through Mac interaction controls and patterns. Overall a good start, but am hoping for a lot more - ideally a complete rewrite based on the core underlying principles of useful and intuitive stock and financial visualization.

great idea, poor execution

This app is a great idea and if it actually worked I would LOVE it. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The app does not detect where my mouse is properly and so it clicks the wrong thing. I can try to account for the erreneous offset by figuring out how far off it is, but this doesnt work for the whole window (and is a ridiculous workaround, frankly). Ive now wasted $10 on this app as I have also purchased the iOS version which has given me bad financal data and lost my trust. Having had bad experiences twice, I dont think Im going to give this app another chance.

Pointless on OSX until they make some improvements

This app is useless on OSX. Missing many quotes because of the source of their data. Also, the screen resolutions are all off. I cant even get it to fit on a 23" monitor without a bunch of blackspace. The aesthetics are good on the surface, but once you use any action, you can really see past the attractive interface in the photos and realize that this app requires much more in order to mature and have any extent of good functionality on OSX. This heatmap isnt useful as a standalone app. As a trader, what am I going to do? Stare at this app for a few minutes? This app only requires about 10 seconds of your attention. Anything beyond that seems to be a waste of time and the information I recieve beyond this point has the same value as the information I recieve in the first 10 seconds. Therefore theres no reason to spend that extra time for the same value. I think this app needs to fill the space in fullscreen mode and allow me to look at multiple stock charts at once. That way at least it can occupy one monitor on my trading set-up instead of just throwing away my $5 dollars. A $5 dollar investment in YRCW a little over a year ago would be worth $3750 today. And they dont even have YRCW in this app even though its a fortune 500 company.

Great app, poor port

This is a great app, I use it on my iPhone and iPad. Its quite apparent that this is just a port of the iPad app and there are several issues with it on the Mac that I hope get resolved so its as smooth and enjoyable to use on the mac as it is on the other platforms.

5 out of 5

An amazing application. Intuitive interface, sofisticated graphics, fluid animation, awesome sound effects, brilliant workflow. The negative reviews are full of it. This app is the bees knees. Request to developers: please add commodities, precious metals and historic data of 10 and more years to all the info and triple the price for the app after these add ons. Thank you.

CRAP

WASTED MONEY.

AWESOME

I am a professional financial advisor and have been patiently waiting for this for my Macbook Pro Retina, I have been using it on my iPhone and loved it. I just downloaded it and it works flawlessly no glitches. There is nothing like it.

Great idea, but extremely buggy right now

I’m hoping this app is debugged in future updates, because it’s a great concept and a lot of fun to use as a research tool. Right now, I’m getting frequent random crashes, problems connecting to the StockTouch database, and difficulty refreshing data. Because of these issues, I would wait awhile before dropping $5 on this app.

BUGGY ON MACBOOK AIR WITH 10.9

Main screen is garbage but with use of menus you can get some meaningful info. Look like a beta to me.

Like the concept, borderline useless due to service problems

I really like this application. There’s one major, fundamental flaw; The service is incredibly flakey. In less than an hour, I’ll have 10-20 popups complaining that it can’t talk to their servers, and that the data is stale. To me, this is unacceptable, and until this is resolved, I can not recomment the app at all.

THE BEST!

Very impressed

Upon downloading this app, I didn’t like it at all. After I learned how to use the navigation features, I realized that I loved it. The main two reasons that I’m giving StockTouch a 2/5 are (1) I am getting consistent crashes. A crash every once in a while I can understand (I’m an iOS/Mac developer), but consistent crashes make me not want to reopen the app. (2) The stock view and Treemap-esque view are pretty much perfect. But the navigation is absolutely terrible. I can get to the mixture of states that I want eventually, but there are so many better ways this could be visaullay executed. Looking forward to future iterations.

Good tool, little surprised at lack of quality

It seems a little like they shoehorned the iOS app into a Mac app skin. The app itself is great, but the window can be… a little unpredictable. Even going full screen doesn’t necessarily mean it takes up the full screen, for instance. It’s like the sizes are all hardcoded in the app.

Crashes, Crashes, Crashes

The StockTouch app crashes repeatedly when opened on my Mac. I have tried uninstalling StockTouch and reinstalling it. The app crashes again. I am not the only one having this issue. The developer needs to resolve it once and for all or withdraw the app from the App Store until they can determine why it crashes. The iPad app works just fine. C’mon y’all get it fixed! This is the ONLY app I have purchased from the App Store which crashes. Every other app I have purchased (many of them) works well. This is a great iPad app and would be a great Mac app too, if the developer would respond to the complaints and get it resolved to the satisfaction of their customers. Please?
