Beautiful & meaningful but has problems on multiple displays
Given the price $4.99 this is a beautiful example of information design. I have been using it briefly and it remains to be seen whether beautiful translates into practical. Time will tell, but the developer deserves praise for rethinking the stock quote and info app design. A lot of thinking went into this and I certainly appreciate the effort, the inclusion on Apple’s Best Apps of 2013 is well deserved.
I do have one problem right away which is rather problematic. The app has problems with multiple displays. It works fine on my MacBook Pro display. But when I hook up a secondary screen (Apple’s 27 in Thunderbolt Display) Stocktouch starts behaving erratically. Some buttons stop working, the Stocktouch window either does not render, renders partially or renders but is not responsive to user input. This basically prevents me from using the larger display, not a deal breaker but annoying nonetheless.
